Michelle Offenbacker Recipient of the 2008 Character Education Scholarship
The Character Counts! Advisory Committee is pleased to announce the winner of the 2008 Character Education Scholarship to be Michelle Offenbacker of Kent Island.  Offenbacker was nominated by her neighbor, Alana Weller and her mother, Connie Offenbacker.
This award was established in 2005 to be given to a deserving student who demonstrated and practiced all Six Pillars of Character: Trustworthiness, Respect, Responsibility, Fairness, Caring and Citizenship.  For the third year, Centreville Rotary Club sponsored the $500 scholarship award.
Offenbacker received her award at the May 13th County Commissioners' Meeting which was attended by Lee Wright, Vice-President of the Centreville Rotary Club.  Other nominees included: Tyler Beals, Luke Blazejak, Nolan O'Brien, Jacob Cook, Erin  Sammarco, Meghan  Mills, Joshua Zell, Jessica Callahan, Jackson Forrest, Stefanie Wagner, Zachary Holocker, Sarah Moore, Kiersten White, Shannon Fitzpatrick, and Michael Rossbach.
