Lynn Knight is the County Administrative Judge for the Queen Anne's County Circuit Court in Maryland, a position she has held since January, 2020. She has a long history of community involvement, including time spent serving on the State Board of Victim Services and the Queen Anne's County Alcohol and Drug Abuse Council. She currently serves as a member of the Maryland Judiciary’s Court of Operations Committee and Domestic Law Committee.

Additionally, Judge Knight championed and worked to establish the Queen Anne's County Circuit Court Assisted Recovery and Treatment Program, also known as CART.

This program focuses on a comprehensive treatment approach, utilizing community services, regular judicial interaction, supervision, treatment, and rehabilitation as alternatives to incarceration for individuals dealing with drug addiction. The program aims to reduce and eliminate crime, drug/alcohol use, and criminal recidivism.

The CART program has demonstrated significant success. Since its inception in 2022, they’ve enrolled 26 participants, maintained a monthly average of 12 participants, and 6 have successfully graduated, with two more expected to complete the program soon. These graduates have shown meaningful improvements in stability, sobriety, and community reintegration. Many have maintained employment, secured long-term housing, and continued participating in support networks after completing the program. The success of CART reflects not only the commitment of the participants but also the dedication of Judge Knight, and her multidisciplinary team, which includes court staff, treatment providers, probation officers, and community partners.

Character Counts loves a success story and appreciates the RESPECT Judge Knight and her staff show to those in need of empathy and understanding while still holding them accountable for their actions.
